The ToonzDAO was established and initially funded as part of the Degen Toonz project
launch, with the clear goal of fostering community-driven growth.
It is a decentralized, self-govenered entity that will continue to evolve and improve through the suggestions, participation and activities of the Toonz community.
Holding a Degen Toonz asset will automatically grant you membership in the ToonzDao. You will be able to participate in the submission of proposals, discussions of ideas in the dao-proposal Discord chanel, attend Town Halls, and ultimately vote on proposals being put forward.
The ToonzDao has the following basic structure...
1. A multi-sig etherium wallet holding Dao funds and assets.
2. The Dao Committee acting as a liaison between the Degen Toonz project, and the Toonz
holders. (see the Committee tab above for full details)
3. A dao-proposal channel in the Degen Toonz Discord, to submit and discuss community ideas and proposals
4. A dao-documents channel (read only) in the Degen Toonz Discord that contain:
Every Toonz holder has the opportunity to submit a proposal here, or in the dedicated dao-proposal Discord channel.
We encourage all community members to participate in the creation and discussion of
proposals.
The Dao Committee is available to help, discuss, and develop the proposal idea in any way
that we can. Authors of proposals are also encouraged to enlist the help of other Toonz community members.
Creating a proposal
We have created a ToonzDao Proposal Submission Template to assist holders in developing and
submitting their idea - this will also be available for download in the dao-documents channel.
When a proposal is submitted
The Toonz holders, with assistance from the DAO Committee, will discuss, debate and evaluate
it based upon...
• its feasibility (cost, complexity of execution)
• community popularity
• potential benefits or returns.
If a proposal meets these criteria, it will be further refined by the Committee along with its
author, and a Town Hall will be scheduled for holders to ask questions, voice concerns etc.
Once the proposal is ready
The Dao Committee will schedule a holder-verified vote. We currently use Snapshot.org for voting. The vote will be recorded as a record on the blockchain, and is available for review at any time, ensuring transparency and accountability.
If the vote successfully passes
The Dao Committee will assist in the execution of the proposal as needed, and give periodic
updates to the Community in the dao-proposal discord channel.
If the vote does not pass
The proposal will not be considered as submitted any further.
Links to the results of all votes will be available for holders to view at any time in the
dao-documents discord channel.
The DAO Committee is made up of dedicated Toonz holders who were initially elected by the
Toonz community*.
The Committee was created to organize and perform various tasks to help ensure the success
of the DAO, including:
Committee members volunteer their time, and are not compensated for their efforts in these functions.
The DAO Committee meets once a week to review proposals, and discuss operations. From
time to time, they meet with the Degen Toonz team as needed.
*The Committee has the ability to self-regulate - meaning it can add/remove members via
an internal Committee majority vote. This allows for replacement of members who have
stepped down, or have not sufficiently contributed to the Committee. Committee members
may also be added in a permanent or non-permanent role based on their willingness to participate, have specific knowledge/skillsets, or represent a significant sized community. Like all functions of the Dao, changes will be discussed, announced and if challenged, voted on.
It's important to note that the Committee members do not influence proposals.
Committee
members are Toonz holders who, for all intents and purposes, have the same rights as any
other holder, nothing more. All Committee discussions and decisions are based upon the
criteria in the Proposal Process tab above.
The Committee is not a development team, and is not obliged to participate in any
development beyond what any other Toonz holder could provide. They may assist in finding
specific resources, but are not required to participate in any development capacity. However, If a member of the Committee does participate in development, they can be compensated for their efforts as any other developer would.
Getting Involved
The Committee is always open for people to assist with proposals, help with development,
execution of proposals. Examples of skills that can help the community with their proposals...
The Committee will, on an as-need basis, form sub-committees of skilled people to help
with the execution of proposals. So...
